Newborn Sleep Cocoon
This cocoon matches the newborn beanie you will also find here on my site (link at end of pattern). Feel free to make one or both.
You will need:
5 oz/250 yd of worsted weight yarn (I used I Love This Yarn Print ‘Sunset’)
5.5 mm hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Finished dimensions:
10" at top opening x 17" length.
Gauge:
8 rows DC x 12 st = 4"
Abbreviations:
SC Single crochet
DC Double crochet
BLO DC Back loop only double crochet
FPDC Front post double crochet
Ch Chain
Sl st Slip stitch
Notes:
Chain 1 at start of each round does not count as stitch. Make sure you slip stitch into top of the first DC, not the chain stitch.
In the pictured example, I crocheted the BLO DC rows into the back and 3rd loop (search 3rd loop HDC if you need help finding the 3rd loop) together. This creates the defined line effect of a BLO DC, but with a flatter and tighter stitch. You may choose either option.
